The Abacus File-Renamer software and videos empower you to avoid this risk by creating any number of fully optimized web pages and uploading them to your site by a specific step-by-step process.

• Convert the names of sequentially numbered spun article files into individual file names taken from your keyword list!
  • Your files will have optimized unique names:
    e.g., "website-security-best-practices.txt" and
    "website-security-software.txt" instead of
    "website-security1.txt" and "website-security2.txt".
• Insert custom header text as the first paragraph and custom footer text as the last paragraph, containing your web site title and link, and the main keyword or the file name as a unique keyword, into each file.

General rename file functions...

• Change filename extensions instantly.
  • E.g., "website-security-certificate.txt" and
    "website-security-scan.txt" become
    "website-security-certificate.html" and
    "website-security-scan.html"
• Change any character or sequence of characters to any other character or sequence of characters, e.g., spaces to hyphens or hyphens to spaces. (By the way, the Abacus File-Renamer is clever enough to know where the "real" word-dividing hyphens are and preserves them! Google ignores hyphens; humans don't.)
  • E.g., "E-commerce Website Security Issues.txt" becomes
    "E---commerce-Website-Security-Issues.txt"
• Generate sequentially numbered versions of a file name -- great when you want to rename files of the photos you download from your camera. AND, to keep your photo files in the correct chronological order, the Abacus File-Renamer gives you the option to include leading zeros in the incremental number suffix. (It works out the number of zeros needed, according to the number of files to be renamed.) As far as we know, it's the only file-renaming software that does this. Now that's intelligence!

Create a relevant keyword list...

• If you use software that generates a large number of files for, say, articles, and gives them hyphenated names, the Abacus File-Renamer can generate a complete keyword list from the file names, changing the hyphens to spaces automatically.

Global replace text functions...

• Replace all occurrences of any text with any other text in all the files in a folder.
  • E.g., "<strong>" becomes "<b>" or "<em>" becomes "<i>". (Article directories have differing submission rules.)
• Replace all occurrences of any text with the formatted file name in all the files in a folder to increase keyword density. WHAM! POW!
  • E.g., if the name of the file is
    "e---commerce-website-security-issues.html",
    "[placeholder] can appear anywhere in the text." becomes
    "E-commerce website security issues can appear anywhere in the text."
• Convert all plain text paragraphs into HTML paragraphs, double line breaks or single line breaks, AND vice-versa. With the Abacus File-Renamer you can easily and quickly convert a plain text article, for example, into an HTML-formatted article, or vice-versa, ready for submission to article directories in the format they require.
  • E.g., a plain text file, containing

Uses for the Abacus File-Renamer, and how it came into being...

Since the popularity of article marketing for web site promotion has grown during the last few years, we at Abacus have needed to rename entire folders of files for the web sites we create. There was no tool available to do this exactly as we wanted, so we created one for our internal use, and called it 'Filename Changer'.

Then, when Google decided to penalize article plagiarists, we looked for a tool to insert a unique first paragraph into our articles. When we couldn't find one, we created the 'Text Inserter'.

Then came the need to mass-edit the content of many files, usually changing HTML tags, but often changing gobbledegook symbols, like “, to quotation marks, apostrophes, etc. Again, we found no tool to do this, so we created 'Global Replacer'.

These three tools were developed, without any frills, for our own use only, and they were never meant for public release.

When article spinning became popular, however, suddenly there was a deluge of articles appearing on private web sites and in article directories, with the purpose of linking to owners' web sites to make them rank higher in search engines.

Abacus then realized that there was a large market for its internal tools, and therefore decided to "prettify" them, add some additional useful functions, and package them into one single software product. This is now available as the 'File-Renamer'.
